TOOL CHOICE: the tool must be selected keeping in mind the inert composition mixed with the bitumen:
• Gravel made from river gravel: the tool must be very sharp since river gravel is very hard (Mohs scale: hardness 6-7).
• Gravel consisting of volcanic inert: the tool alloy must be wear-resistant to counteract the abrasiveness of the lava. Our league A2MM.
• Quarry crushed stone (calcium carbonate): a tool with a medium-hard alloy, our league A.
